Last Call for BBQ!

This is it, folks – your final reminder! The Capes 10th annual 4th of July BBQ will be held Saturday, July 2, 2016 from 12-3pm at the meadow. The HOA will provide burgers and hotdogs (both meat and non-meat varieties), chips, water and soda. Please bring your appetites, a side dish or dessert to share, and a lawn chair or picnic blanket to sit on. (We may have some chairs available, but probably not enough for everyone!) All Capes owners, family members and guests are welcome, even if you have not RSVP’d. Please note: furry family members are welcome as well, but should be on a leash – as should your dog.

Phase III Townhome Painting

Trim painting of the Phase III townhomes started on Monday, June 27, 2016 and expected to continue through sometime in August. Lots 78 – 81 on Capes Drive are being painted this week, and 82, 83, 173, 174 and 175 are on the agenda starting next week. After these 9 Capes Drive homes are completed, the painters will get started on Promontory Lane lots 84-109. Watch your email for more updates as they become available.

Don’t Forget…

There are plenty of fun things to do right here at The Capes. On sunny summer days you can play bocce ball or horseshoes at the meadow, or venture on down Fall Creek Drive for a game of tennis. Equipment (and rules) for these games are available for owners and their guests to borrow any time the office is open. For those (oh, so infrequent) rainy days, our Bridge House lending library has plenty of books, puzzles and games to help make an afternoon indoors more enjoyable. The office is open Monday through Saturday from 8am to 5pm and on Sunday from 10am to 2pm. Stop by anytime and check out some fun!

Deer Crossing

There have been a lot of deer spotted throughout the neighborhood lately, so please be on the lookout while driving – especially in the early morning and at dusk. This shouldn’t really be too much of an issue inside The Capes, because we’re all following that 15mph speed limit, anyway, right? I thought so!

For those long drives to and from The Capes, however, they might be harder to avoid. One Capes resident recently suggested that drivers might want to invest in a deer whistle for their cars. The whistle attaches to the front grill, and is fairly unobtrusive. You won’t hear the sound it makes, but if it works as advertised, the deer and elk that hear it will head the other way!
