Capes News – March 2022

Annual Meeting/Voting Information

As indoor Covid19 restrictions are only just now starting to lift in Oregon, voting for this year’s director election will once again take place via mail-in (or email-in) ballot. An email will go out to all owners later this week with information on how to request secrecy ballot procedures or make “floor” nominations for board candidates. Ballot packets will be mailed out around March 21st so that they can be returned and counted prior to our April 23, 2022 Annual Homeowners (Zoom) Meeting, when the winners will be announced.

There are three seats with expiring terms this year – those belonging to Scott Newcombe, Tony Ogden and Claude Zeller. Scott and Claude will be running for re-election, and will be joined in the race by fellow homeowners Susan Hunter and Melissa Myers.

Upcoming Projects

During some recent repair work on the Bridge House decks, it was discovered that the damage was more extensive than originally thought, and it makes more sense to replace the decking. Both decks will be replaced with a composite decking (Trex) and stainless steel cable railing this spring. We will also be replacing the decking outside the office door with the same Trex material.

Some of the other expected projects around the community this year include:

  • Seal coating the roads
  • Cleaning and scoping the storm drain system
  • Exterior trim painting of the Phase I townhomes (Lots 3 – 38)

Daylight Savings Time

Get ready to “spring ahead”! Daylight savings time starts at 2:00 am on Sunday, March 13, 2022. Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour…and then go take a nice evening walk on the beach!
