Call for Volunteers!
Do you like fun and community-building? If so, please consider joining us to help put these events together.

Our committee will be down to two members soon, so we would welcome your participation as an ongoing committee member or to help with a specific event. Email fun@thecapeshoa.org and we will be in touch!

We had a fun group attend the planting workshop @ JAndy, followed by a delicious lunch in their beautiful garden. Future events to be announced, and hopefully you can join us too! (picture above)

Driveway Seal Coat Reminder

If you haven’t yet signed up to seal coat your driveway (and as we’ve said before, no, this does not in any way involve actual seals…), you’re not too late. Send an email to manager@thecapeshoa.org today to get on the list.

We don’t have an exact date yet, but the work is expected to take place sometime in the next few weeks. Pricing is $1.10 per lineal foot for crack filling (if you need it) and $0.26 per square foot for seal coating.

From the ARC

Recently a new law (SB 1551) was passed regarding Fire Hardened Materials. Under this new law, homeowners MAY install fire hardened or fire resistant materials on their home if they want to. At the Capes, currently acceptable fire hardened materials include fire hardened cedar shingles (including fire hardened shingle panels with fire hardened underlayment), or cedar shingles treated with Flame Stop II or other flame retardant. In addition, trim boards, soffits, or portions of a home painted Capes White can be fiber cement or other fire resistant material.

The new law does NOT require homeowners to upgrade their homes with fire hardened materials.
