2022 Dues and Budget

Hold that thought! The Budget Committee has been working diligently on next year’s budget, and it’s almost ready to share with the class. Watch your inboxes later this month for the 2022 proposed budget and dues that the Board will vote on at their November meeting.

How DO You DUE?

Speaking of 2022 dues…it’s that time of year again when I beg ask you to let me know if you would like to receive a tear-out payment book for your 2022 HOA dues…or if you’d rather have a statement/reminder emailed to you…or if you’re one of those independent types that don’t need no stinkin’ reminders. Whatever your preference, please take a moment now to let me know by filling out this brief form:

I will be placing orders for the tear-out payment books on December 6, 2021, so if you want one, you need to place your order no later than Sunday, December 5, 2021. [Please note, the office absolutely does NOT need to have that tear-out coupon to process your dues payment. They are for your convenience only. If the only reason you like them is because they come with mailing labels, let me know, and I’ll be happy to mail you some labels instead!]

Fundraiser for the NORFPD

Thankfully, we did not have quite the close call this fire season as on Labor Day 2020, but that doesn’t mean our local fire department, the Netarts-Oceanside Rural Fire Protection District (try saying that 3 times fast!), doesn’t still need our help. Covid19 once again cancelled their main two annual fundraisers for 2021, so for the months of November and December, we will be collecting donations in support of these brave volunteers who do so much for our community. Watch your inboxes for a separate email chock full of fundraiser details, and please donate!

Trash Talk

Back in the day, we used to cut our weekly dumpster pickups from twice weekly in the summer to once weekly during the slower winter months. With Covid19 driving more and more Capers more often to the coast to escape the more populated (and infected!) areas, we found that one pickup per week during the winter wasn’t always enough. Thus, the decision was made to keep year-round twice-per-week pickups. BUT there are some weeks where we land somewhere in the middle. One pickup isn’t quite enough, but we don’t really have enough garbage to quite justify a second full pickup either.

Why am I telling you this, you ask? Well, it has recently come to our attention that a half-full dumpster costs us the same to empty as a completely full one, BUT, if one of dumpsters doesn’t have anything in it at all, they will not charge us for emptying that dumpster. So…when taking out trash, let’s all try to fill up one dumpster completely before starting to fill the next. That way, if we don’t have six dumpsters full of trash in a given week, we aren’t charged to empty six. Make sense?
