How Do You Like Your DUES REMINDERS?

It’s that time of year again when I beg ask you to let me know if you would like to receive a tear-out payment book for your 2020 HOA dues…or if you’d rather have a statement/reminder emailed to you…or if you’re one of those independent types that don’t need no stinkin’ reminders. Whatever your preference, please take a moment now to let me know by filling out this brief form:

I will be placing the order for the payment books on Monday, December 9, 2019. If I haven’t heard from you by then, you may not receive a payment book. Don’t say I didn’t warn ya!

[Please also note, the office absolutely does NOT need to have that tear-out coupon to process your dues payment. They are for your convenience only. If the only reason you like them is because they come with mailing labels, let me know, and I’ll be happy to mail you some labels!]

Brats ‘n Boos

It’s Ocktoberfest meets Frankenstein at The Capes! Join us for the Brats ‘n Boos-fest at The Bridge House, from 4-7 pm on Saturday, October 26. Put on your Halloween costume and come enjoy your favorite beer and some tasty bratwurst. We’ll provide the brats with all the fixings, potato salad, soda and water. All you need to bring is your appetite, a favorite side dish or dessert and some beer to share. Costumes aren’t mandatory, but they sure are encouraged! We’ll have a couple of small prizes for the best ones!

Upcoming Projects

Over the next few weeks there are several projects in the works that may (or may not) temporarily affect traffic flow or amenity availability. Individual emails will be sent to all homeowners as each project is scheduled and more information becomes available. For now, just keep these items on your radar:

  • Replacement of the white 3-rail fence along Capes Drive between the front entrance and the 4-way stop sign. In order to reduce the need to continually repair and repaint the fence, it will be replaced with a much more durable white vinyl material. The old fence will be removed within the next 1-2 weeks and the new fence should go in 1-2 weeks after that. During the old fence demolition and the new fence installation, drivers entering and exiting The Capes will need to proceed with caution, as there may be contractors working or equipment parked on the side of the road.
  • Replacement of the wood pallet entry walkway at the Manager’s Office with concrete. There may be a few days’ gap between the removal of the old pallet walkway and installation of the new concrete. During this time, owners visiting the office may find it easier to park on the far side of the garage and enter the office through the handicap accessible entrance on the far side of the garage.
  • Resurfacing and leveling of the bocce ball court. While this is being done, the bocce ball court will be out of service. Never fear, though, we’ve still got horseshoes and pickleball! Right now, we are anticipating a November completion date for this.
  • Seal coating of select private driveways, including the Cottages. This should only affect the owners who have requested that their driveways be seal-coated.
