NEW BOARD MEETING TIME…SORT OF…

Starting with the May 2015 board meeting and going forward, there will be a slight change to the way the meetings are scheduled. The board meetings will now be scheduled to begin at 9:30am, with the open forum as the first item on the agenda. (This is a change from how it’s been scheduled in the past, with the open forum at 9:30 and the regular meeting at 10:00am.) The purpose of this change is to eliminate gaps in the schedule in the event that no one wishes to take advantage of the open forum.

DON’T FORGET TO REGISTER…

You’ve probably noticed by now that our website has undergone a transformation. Take a few minutes to check it out! If you haven’t already done so, please make sure you take the time to register for this site (homeowners only, please!) so that you can access our Owners Only page. To register, go to the Owner’s Only page, and fill out the New User Registration form. Once you’ve submitted your registration request, you’ll receive an email confirming that your request was received, and the user name and password that you signed up with. BUT wait…you’re still not quite ready to log in! In order to ensure that only Capes homeowners can access the sensitive materials on the Owner’s Only page, all registrations must be approved and activated by the site administrator. Once your request has been approved, you will receive a second email, letting you know that you’re good to go. (Please remember that our web administrator is a neighbor and a volunteer. In most instances, your registration request will be processed fairly quickly, but there may be times when it takes a little longer. If you haven’t received a response within 2 business days, please let us know!)

ANNUAL MEETING…SUCCESS!

Thanks to all who attended this year’s annual meeting at the Netarts Fire Hall. We had a great turnout this year, with nearly 60 residents in attendance. Meeting minutes will be posted to the website following their approval at the May 16, 2015 board meeting.

HELP WANTED…

Our volunteer committees help to maintain the vitality of The Capes and reduce the cost of services that might otherwise need to be contracted out. We need your volunteer support, so check out the Committees page, and let us know which ones strike your fancy!

CLEAN UP THE BROOM…

scotchbroomScotch Broom is an invasive plant that was brought to the Pacific Northwest in the mid-1800s. It is classified as a noxious weed, with the ability to crowd out native plants, change soil chemistry, and slow and prevent forest re-growth. It spreads rapidly, and is highly flammable, which creates fire hazards. If you find any on your property, steps should be taken to eradicate it.  Here are two great resources for information about getting rid of Scotch Broom:
